Preparing your moving experience...
Clear space for the new by giving back. A list of local charities that accept furniture, and how to get it there.
Out with the old, in with the new! If you are upgrading your sectional or dining set, don't just dump the old one. Many organizations in King County can give your furniture a second life.
**1. NW Furniture Bank:** Helping victims of domestic abuse and disasters furnish new homes. They generally require drop-offs or scheduled pickups weeks in advance.
**2. Habitat for Humanity Stores (Bellevue, Auburn, etc.):** Proceeds build homes. They accept quality antique and modern furniture.
**3. Goodwill / Value Village:** Great for general household items, though they can be picky about large upholstered furniture due to hygiene regulations.
While some of these charities offer pickup services, they depend on volunteers and often have waitlists of 2-4 weeks. They also require items to be curbside, which means *you* still have to haul it out of the house.
Can't wait weeks to get that old couch out? Z-HAUL offers a **Donation Drop-Off Service**.
• We pick up the item from *inside* your home (no lifting for you).
• We drive it directly to the donation center of your choice.
• If they can't accept it, we can handle eco-friendly disposal.
